Paws for a Cause Part Deux (Picture Heavy)

TSA has nothing on my two fur kids! Both days when I got home from the Paws for a Cause event I was searched, sniffed, prodded and pawed and promplty ignored. Until I pulled out the home made dog biscuits and other treats I purchased from Bow Wow-Meow Boutique.

I was really impressed that most dogs walked really well through the confusion of scents and people and I saw very few people being walked by their dogs :-) Did see quite a few dogs who had found a shady spot and refused to move.

The weather was absolutely perfect for the event except it was a little on the warm side yesterday. There was a great turnout and I hope lots of money was raised.

I am by no means an authority on dog breeds. So if you see a breed mislabeled, please let me know :-)

Please support your local SPCA/Humane Society.

The Event-Paws for a Cause

Yesterday at early thirty I was on my way to set up a booth at "Paws for a Cause" which helps our local SPCA. It was a blast! There were dogs (and people) of every breed and I have a front row seat for the Dock Dogs jump :
This guy couldn't wait for his turn :-) It was so much fun watching the dogs get ready to jump-they were so excited and I could see the adrenelin pumping. Then their handler would throw the toy in to the pool and the dog would go airborne after the toy.

Handsome and knows it...

This guy was sitting in the apple tree with his chest all puffed out singing away so all the ladies would notice how handsome he is. I certainly think he's handsome.

Chalk Paint

I got my first quart of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and I love it! I of course ran through the house looking for something small to try it out on. Boy was I impressed!

So far I have painted the stool (below), most of my kitchen table, a side table and one of my kitchen chairs and I still have a about 3/4 of a quart left. (The color is "Old White"). I realize this is not my usual style but for 1/2 hours time and a little paint I was pretty happy with it.

I hope you're having a great week!

Recharging

I drove in to Yorktown

Walked around

To the right in this picture is the Freight Shed:
Built in 1935 by the National Park Service after a tropical storm destroyed much of the waterfront, the building was used as a terminal for Baltimore steamships until 1952, when it was remodeled as a post office.

Met some wonderful friends for lunch here

and ate, chatted and took in the beautiful view..
Very refreshing!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
