Recharging

I drove in to Yorktown

Walked around

To the right in this picture is the Freight Shed:
Built in 1935 by the National Park Service after a tropical storm destroyed much of the waterfront, the building was used as a terminal for Baltimore steamships until 1952, when it was remodeled as a post office.

Met some wonderful friends for lunch here

and ate, chatted and took in the beautiful view..
Very refreshing!

Paws for a Cause

To all of my animal lover friends in blogland...I am doing a fundraiser for the Peninsula SPCA  called "Paws For A Cause" (isn't that catchy) ?!?? I went yesterday and met all of the "residents" who will benefit from the fundraiser and I managed to leave empty handed *whew* but I don't how long I'll be able to hold back :-) Look at this face :

Anyhoo, if anyone would like to make a much appreciated donation I have attached the link below:
Paws For A Cause  and if your local to Newport News, VA please sign up for the festival.

The link for the event is here

Thanks so much!

Chest re-do

This little chest came from my now defunct shop. It was an awful brownish-pink color when I purchased it for $4.00 and I put a coat of OOPS blue on it. *smile* I have changed my mind several times as you can see and am now trying to decide if I want to continue on with the theme I have going on on the sides or if I want to strip the sides (again!) and do something different that will work better with the top I just finished OR if I want to do something completely different with the chest. See why I don't get many projects completed?!!?

Bombay Chest

For the past few months I have started several projects and not really finished anything. So, I am posting the one piece that is closest to being finished. The Bombay chest I've been working on:

 Sorry for the blur...

I still need to "clean" the piece up and add some more detail to the sides...but I'm getting there :-)
