Nag Champa Soap

My friend Kelly came by for a visit today and we mixed up a batch of Nag Champa soap:

Fresh out of the oven

Cut and on the drying rack

Close up :-)

I always slice a piece off of each 8# slab of soap I make and try it out on my hands to "test" it. This slab is nice and creamy, dense bubbles and full of humectants.

I hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Sweet Almond and Oatmeal Soap

I'm getting inventory ready for a craft fair in October. Soap will be a big part of my inventory. I tweaked my recipe a little bit and these bars are so rich and creamy~
Isn't it pretty?

Lazy Susan Redo

On my last junkin' trip I found a lazy Susan that was pretty plain. So, I dressed it up.  I didn't take any "before" pictures because I had painted on the top coat before I thought about it :-(

Stay Cool!

More Junkin' in July

More stuff I got on my Junkin' trip:

Blue Dresden Instant Coffee Cannister marked 1957

Crown Ducal Bowls Set of 8. They are the prettiest pale yellow

Hall Tea Pot

Milk Glass plate-very fiery when I hold it up to the light. Almost looks like a big opal.

Noritake relish (?) dish

Revere Ware 8 x 8 pan with lid

WS George Serving Bowl

WS George Serving Platters set of 2

I'm still soaking and cleaning some other pieces which I will post later. I also got lots of old tools, terra cotta pots, etc.

Total cost: $2.00 for a soda and a little money for gas.

Stay cool!

Junkin in July

I had the opportunity to go junkin' yesterday in the near 100ยบ heat - Here are a few of the things I found (before cleaning). I'll post more pictures later :-) Edited to add: this was a free junkin' expedition!

I'll post more pictures when I get more stuff unpacked and cleaned.

Stay cool everyone!

Sunflowers and Watering Cans

My sunflowers are coming out in force now :-) They look so happy! I planted Morning Glories and moon flowers at the base of the sunflowers so they would climb up the sunflower stalks and they are just now beginning to bloom.
About 14' Tall and growing

Morning Glories

Look at this awesome HUGE watering can Barbara at Once in a Blue Moon gave me!

Barbara also gave me this can---I think it's an old oil or gas can of some kind. It's pretty cool whatever it is. Barbara's shop is so full of beautiful pieces- lots of glass and smalls, gorgeous furniture...I think I'll do a blog about her shop this week.
